Livia Tagliacozzo
Co-founder and director of Idris. She was born and raised in Rome, Italy, she is a PhD candidate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is a graduate of the Tel Aviv University Multidisciplinary Program in the Humanities and completed her MA degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies. Her doctoral research focuses on fascism and the relations between different religious communities in the Middle East and North Africa. She has curated exhibitions in Israel and abroad, and authored articles on a variety of topics which were published in artist catalogs, academic press and newspapers.
Barak Rubin
Co-founder and chief curator of Idris. Based in Jaffa, he is a graduate of the BFA in Photography and MFA at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. In addition to curating exhibitions in Israel and abroad, he manages the Bezalel Gallery of Contemporary Art. Specialized in Islamic art history and contemporary Palestinian art, his research focuses on the intersections between myth, history and religion.
